The Oander Charitable Foundation was set up with one goal in mind; to give back to the local communities in which we work and help those in need.
Every year the foundation actively seeks out projects and organisations to support with the simple aim of helping out. In turn these projects help to contribute to the welfare of the local community. Oander realises the importance of supporting the local community and are actively working to deliver a direct impact to the local communities in which we work
The Oander charitable Foundation are delighted to deliver on this goal and have been able to support two local youth rugby teams this season following the recent interruption to the sport at grass roots level due to the pandemic.
Supporting Two Local Rugby Teams
Oander were over the moon to receive photos of the Brighton Blues Under 14 team and the Bognor Regis Tigers Under 15’s in their new training and match day kits. Contributions from the Oander Charitable Foundation has enabled both teams to purchase the kits which were greatly needed.
As a responsible and socially aware business, Oander strongly believe that we are only successful if we share our success by supporting local organisations, charities and events which contribute directly to greater social value and community.
The real unsung heroes of mini-rugby are the team’s coaches, managers and trainers who volunteer to support grass roots rugby come rain, wind, shine or snow. Turning up week in, week out, they help the next generation learn and develop key skills and traits which will help both on and off the pitch and as they grow older and enter the world of work, learning team spirit, working together and resilience.
Oander realsises the importance that grass roots sports have on the mental and physical wellbeing of the local community. We hope our continued support at this level helps generations of our community grow and live happy healthy lives.
Bognor Regis RFC Coach, Lee Russell said “It’s great to see businesses such as Oander who are operating within the local area support local organisations such as Bognor Regis RFC. Grass roots rugby provides so much to so many and provides opportunity for those involved with both playing and training. Support from socially aware business is vital to help us continue doing this. Plus, considering the rate at which the boys grow and go through kit, such support is always greatly received”.
Andy Taylor at Brighton Blues RFC said “Applying for the funding and support from the Oander Charitable Foundation was a quick and simple process, which has enabled us to buy the squad reversible tops, which we wouldn’t traditionally be able to afford. The funding from Oander is also assisting with many other fixed costs such as transport for away matches, officials and refereeing. Youth teams such as ourselves, receive baseline funding from the RFU but support from the likes of Oander really enable us to invest, develop and provide great facilitates and equipment to help the team develop”.
“As a business we believe it is vital that our success is shared”
Oander’s Managing Director, Ben Davies said “As a business, we believe it is vital that our success is shared by supporting various good causes, youth organisations and charities both at home and within those areas in which we are delivering projects. The opportunity to support both Brighton and Bognor RFC’s has been fantastic and it’s been even better to be able to attend several of the games to watch the boys play. We wish both teams the very best for the rest of the season and look forward the start of a longer term relationship to support these great youth organisations”.
