Oander’s latest project, to start on site involves refurbishment of a former adventure playground / youth centre within the Broadfield area of Crawley, on behalf of Crawley Borough Council.
The building which has been out of use for the past 12 months and has fallen into disrepair has been selected for refurbishment to become a new satellite hub for the borough’s community services (external maintenance teams). Plans are also in place for the building to also be utilised as a local polling station for the May 2024 elections and therefore works are required to be completed by end April 2024.
The works will include a complete refurbishment and redecoration throughout the building including; forming a new kitchen, offices and meeting room, together with a breakout area, refurbished toilet facilities and a new locker room / shower area.
Works include new suspended ceilings, doors, windows, flooring, and new mechanical and electrical services.
External works in addition to fascia / guttering and general improvement to the appearance of the building also include new front entrance steps, handrailing, improved ramped access and lighting.
The scheme also includes provision of new EV charging points for council maintenance vehicles.
Oander are appointed to provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Principal Designer (CDM) services.
We look forward to seeing the project progress over the coming weeks enable the additional space and logistical capabilities to support the council teams improve their service to the local community.
