Oander are delighted to provide an update following the recent completion of the cladding remediation works at 87 Axe Street in Barking, Essex.
Last week we have witnessed the removal of the final section of the external scaffolding from the building facade, which has been in place since September 2022 to enable the cladding remediation works, which have been recently completed.
The scope of the project included the design and implementation of an entire new external wall system to replace the existing cladding previously found to include combustible insulations and other components.
Despite encountering a number of anomalies and unexpected conditions during the works, the team have done a fantastic job in completing the works both diligently and in a timely manner, which makes the building fire safe and fully compliant to building regulations.
The job wasn’t without challenges being a logistically confined site and with one elevation bordering the local electrical substation requiring associated approvals and additional working constraints on the team.
All involved, including the Client and residents are very pleased with the final product which, in addition to the overall fire safety improvements offers a more aesthetically pleasing product in comparison to the original building .
We would like express our thanks to Oliver Chew at Oander for leading the project through to a successful completion and the team involved in achieving this successful outcome for residents and leaseholders alike
The Project Team
We would like to take the opportunity to thank the project team and the wider supply chain for their continued hard work.
