Oander has successfully completed and handed over the recent car park re-surfacing project at the Lee-on-Solent Health Centre in Hampshire on time and under budget. Appointed by the NHS Property Services under their SBS Framework, Oander were the Employers Agent for this 39 bay car park. Due to the poor surface condition of the existing car park, it required resurfacing to ensure it was not only safe for the Health Centre visitors, but also had a long term residual investment value to ensure the landlord, NHS Property Services achieved best value.
As part of Oander’s remit, we were appointed to undertake Drainage CCTV surveys and coring to ascertain the current condition and life span of the existing assets. Working closely with the appointed contractor, we were able to utilise the survey and core results to maximise the life span of the proposed works, whilst reducing the overall programme and the final cost by c. 14% by implementing a number of changes.
Working over the course of several weekends, the team completed the drainage repairs and localised repairs whilst the Health Centre was closed, followed by an intensive weekend of car park resurfacing to ensure the facility was back in operation with minimal disruption to the Health Centre users and staff.
