Oander are pleased to have successfully completed another project at Fareham Health Centre, Hampshire for NHS Property Services as they continue to invest in their healthcare estate.
As the Lead Consultant, the project included the replacement of the secondary heating circuits throughout the entire Health Centre, which was split across 3 storeys, completing within 4 months, and achieved Practical Completion on 7th October 2022.
The project scope included the installation and commissioning into use of a new secondary heating pipework system along with the removal of the existing / wall mounted radiators which were replaced with new radiant panels mounted within the suspended ceiling grids. Thus, providing practical, operational and environmental / suitability benefits..
Radiant panels within healthcare environments provide a number of benefits, taking away the need for lower surface temperature radiators, because they are not readily able to be reached / touched along with operating at a lower temperature, which gives operational and efficiency benefits.
With the Health Centre being a live operational premises, the works were planned and undertaken completely during out of hours times at night with hand back of the work areas into use each morning.
Oander’s Daniel White said “The key to a successful outcome on this project has been good communication between the daytime management and the team on nights, along with ensuring the team at the health centre stakeholders were regularly kept up to date with the planned works”
This project follows on from the completion of other key backlog maintenance works at the health centre including the fire alarm system replacement in March 2022 and replacement of the boiler room, completed December 2021.
On all of these projects Oander have been fulfilling the role Client’s Project Manager / Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor & Principal Designer as part of our ongoing support under the NHS backlog maintenance framework appointment.
Bernadette from NHS PS Facilities commented on the completion of the project
It was it was a well-run project with communication making the project run so well. The guys were great and very hardworking and the managing of the project by Dan and Adam made things much easier for me with the tenants. I would also like to say thank you to both Dan and Adam and the teams that worked so hard at Fareham on the project.
We take pride in managing these projects on behalf of NHS Property services and building relationships with the NHS teams at management and site level.
